Vocalist Georgina Jackson, Musical Director Pete Long and special guests from Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club ‘swing and sing for a cure’ to support Breast Cancer Research at The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
Georgina Jackson is a professional musician (trumpet and vocals) who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2009. She sings regularly at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London with the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz orchestra. This world famous band made a rare appearance outside the club with Georgina to support and launch the new Breast Cancer Research Charity at The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
This concert was a sell-out with a long waiting list for tickets. Together with the Raffle which had prizes donated by local businesses including The Grove Hotel and British Airways we raised nearly £7,700 for the charity.
The Breast Team at Mount Vernon would like to say a BIG thank you to Georgina and her fellow musicians for a wonderful evening and for giving up their time to support the charity.
